Notice is hereby given that sealed or electronic bids will be received by the Board of Supervisors of Jackson County, Mississippi until 12:00 noon (CT) on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, and said bids are to be opened and read aloud at 1:00 p.m. in the Board of Supervisors’ Meeting Room located in the Jackson County Services Building, 2915 Canty Street, Pascagoula, MS 39567.

Contractors have the option of submitting their bids sealed in an envelope or electronically through www.jacksoncoplans.com. If a sealed envelope bid is submitted by mail, the post office address of the Chancery Clerk of Jackson County is P.O. Box 998, Pascagoula, MS 39568-0998. Bids may be delivered to Joshua Eldridge, Chancery Clerk, c/o Land Records Department, 2915 Canty Street, Suite R, Pascagoula, MS 39567. All bid envelopes should contain the bidder’s name and mailing address on the face of the envelope and also specify the name of the bid item. Bidder’s certificate of responsibility number or a statement that the bid inside is less than $50,000.00 shall appear on the outside or exterior of the envelope or container of such bids, failing which, said bid shall not be opened or considered.

Envelopes containing the bid must be sealed, addressed to The Clerk of the Board, and designated as a bid for the following items described, to wit:

Any bids received after the time and date specified will not be considered and will be returned unopened. If any envelope is not so marked, any bid contained therein will not be considered.

When submitting an electronic bid, the bid must be submitted in “pdf” format and shall contain the same information and forms as required for the paper bids. Electronic bids must be secured with a bid bond. When submitting a bid electronically, the authorized signature shall be an electronic signature or handwritten in blue-ink signature. In the event that an electronically submitted bid has a corrupted attachment, the bid will be considered null and void. When bids are submitted electronically, the requirement for including a certificate of responsibility, or a statement that the bid enclosed does not exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00), on the exterior of the bid envelope shall be deemed in compliance by including the same information as an attachment with the electronic bid submittal.

Project Manuals may be examined at the office of the Design Engineer, Compton Engineering, Inc., 1969 Market Street in Pascagoula, or online at www.comptonengineeringplans.com and www.jacksoncoplans.com. The bid documents are being made available online via original paper copy or compact disc upon payment of $175.00 per paper copy and $50.00 per compact disc. Cost includes shipping and handling for each set. The bid documents are non-refundable. Return of documents is not required. All plan holders are required to have a valid email address for online registration. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids not conforming to the intent and purpose of the specifications, and to postpone the award of the Contract for a period of time which, however, shall not extend beyond 90 days from the bid opening date.
