NOTICE is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of Jackson County, Mississippi will receive written sealed or electronic bids
until the hour of 12:00 PM (CT) on MAY 24, 2023 at Jackson County’s Chancery Clerk’s office located at 2915 Canty Street, Suite R, Pascagoula, Mississippi 39567, for the furnishing of all labor and materials and for the construction of that certain project designated as NORTH ST (PHASE 2) DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 1:00 PM (CT) MAY 24, 2023 in the Board of Supervisors’ Board Room in the Jackson County Service Complex located at 2915 Canty Street, Pascagoula, Mississippi 39567.
Contractors have the option of submitting their bids sealed in an envelope or electronically through www.jacksoncoplans.com. Sealed bid envelopes shall be marked “SEALED BID FOR JACKSON COUNTY –NORTH ST (PHASE 2) DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
TO BE OPENED AT 1:00 PM (CT) MAY 24, 2023,” and if any envelope is not so marked, any bid contained therein will not be considered.
All bid envelopes should contain the bidder’s name and mailing address on the face of the envelope. The bid shall also contain the bidder’s Certificate of Responsibility number or a statement that the bid enclosed does not exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) on the outside of the envelope, failing which, said bid shall not be opened or considered.
When submitting an electronic bid, the bid must be submitted in “pdf” format and shall contain the same information and forms as required for the paper bids. Electronic bids must be secured with a bid bond. When submitting a bid electronically, the authorized signature may be a hand- written blue ink signature or be an electronic signature. When bids are submitted electronically, the requirement for including a certificate of responsibility, or a statement that the bid enclosed does not exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00), on the exterior of the bid envelope shall be deemed in compliance by including the same information as an attachment with the electronic bid submittal.
Official bid documents can be downloaded from www.jacksoncoplans.com. Contractors will be required to register for FREE with Plan House Document Management at www.jacksoncoplans.com to submit an electronic bid. For any questions relating to the electronic submittal, please call Plan House at 662-407-0193. The plans and specifications will also be made available at the office of Waggoner Engineering, Inc. located at 2510 14th St, Suite 1200, Gulfport, MS 39501.
A MANDATORY Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 1:00 p.m. (CT) MAY 10, 2023 in the Board of Supervisors’ Board Room in the Jackson County Service Complex located at 2915 Canty Street, Pascagoula, Mississippi 39567.
The project consists of construction of: concrete drainage inlets and pipes, removing excess vegetation from drainage ditch, reshaping existing drainage ditch, and all related appurtenances shown on the Bid Form.
The total Contract Time will be 90 consecutive calendar days and the liquidated damages will be
$1,000.00 per consecutive calendar day thereafter.
The Board of Supervisors of Jackson County, Mississippi hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises/woman business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in
response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
Award will be made to the lowest and best bidder and the Board of Supervisors of Jackson County, Mississippi reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
